Collective Soul will headline 20th year of top concerts at the Deadwood Jam
By LCJ staff
Rockers Collective Soul will provide the grand finale of the 20th annual Deadwood Jam, Sept. 17-18, according to a news release.
Collective Soul rocked the Jam stage in 2003, and they will return to the stage on Sept. 18. The Jam’s volunteer committee listened to the audience and brought the band back.
“Collective Soul was definitely a crowd favorite, and since they were here last, we’ve listened to Jam fans requesting them back again,” said Matt Pike, Deadwood Jam committee chairman. “With 2010 marking 20 years of the Deadwood Jam, we went after Collective Soul to bring back one of the most-requested bands.”
Tickets will also be available for purchase in-person at the Spring Jam at the Opera House, set for March 20 at the Historic Homestake Opera House in Lead.
With hits such as “The World I Know,” “Shine,” “December,” “Gel”, “Listen,” “Heavy,” “Run” and many others, Collective Soul is a multi-platinum band with a catalog of No. 1 hits. Their hit “Tremble for My Beloved” was on the movie soundtrack for Twilight. Their newest collaboration, due out later this year, already has the hit “Staring Down” playing on radio stations across the country.
Collective Soul won’t be the only crowd favorite returning to the Jam. Committee members are in the process of finalizing Friday, Sept. 17, and Saturday, Sept. 18, lineups.
“We will be announcing more bands in coming days, and we know fans will be very pleased,” said Pike.
As part of the celebration of 20 years of the Deadwood Jam, single-day ticket sales began Feb. 11, at the discounted price of $20 per ticket per day. The low price is being offered for just 20 days, through March 2, as thanks for the loyalty of the many Jam-goers over the years.
Tickets will be available through Black Hills Central Reservations by visiting www.deadwoodjam.com or calling 1-800-344-8826.
